BOSTON – August 18, 2026 – MassHousing awarded $296,000 to eight organizations that provided summer job opportunities to 90 young people across Massachusetts.
The Agency's Summer Youth Employment Program provided funding for the participants who live in MassHousing-affiliated rental housing communities to work up to 40 hours a week, earning between $15 to $20 per hour based on the job performed.
"This summer jobs program through our Housing Stability Department gives young people exposure to many varied work experiences with mission-oriented organizations," said MassHousing CEO Chrystal Kornegay. "Our business and community partners share MassHousing's goal of fostering opportunities for social and economic advancement for the residents of our housing communities across the Commonwealth."
The organizations that received Summer Youth Employment Funding are:
- Worcester Community Action Council, Inc.
- The BASE, Boston
- Madison Park Development Corporation, Boston
- Project Right, Boston
- New North Citizens Council, Inc., Springfield
- Phillips Brooks House Association, Cambridge
- Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lowell
- Boys and Girls Club of Metro South
